Are you getting a CraigsList event?

According to an MPI article, meetings and events accounted for $328 billion in direct spending in 2016. Wowza! Hosting an event is a costly investment, but if done correctly, it’s a worthwhile one that’ll present you as a leader in your field, keep your VIP clients raving, and get you new clients – thus making your initial investment negligible.

But producing a killer event that gets you the results you need isn’t easy. It requires strategy, careful implementation, and a team that knows exactly what they’re doing and why.

That’s why it’s dangerous - and costly - to work with event production teams that are whipped together with – dare we say it – CraigsList finds.

What?

That’s right.

We won’t name names, but many event producers and event production companies find their service teammates on CraigsList – sometimes without even meeting them beforehand. You heard that right! Now, to clarify, we love a good CraigsList find (we purchased an antique rocking chair from CraigsList!)...but not for an event that our client pays handsomely for and is expecting a result from. No, ma’am!

It’s just way too risky and downright disrespectful, in our eyes.

But why risky, you ask?

Besides the obvious (that they’re likely untrained, unpresentable hires that may or may not pass a background check) the last-minute team roster may be due to the producer’s under-preparedness or desire to maximize their own profits with under-qualified staff that is paid minimum wage or lower.

Ultimately, this is at your expense - and your outcome will suffer.

Designing and executing an extraordinary experience is a delicate process that requires a capable and qualified team to be successful. In order for the service components and sequencing to be executed with flawless precision, the staff must work cohesively – and they can’t possibly do that if they’re strangers to one another and to the purpose of the event as a whole.

We don’t take that risk!

We at Secret Table have a tight-knit event production team that comes together long before event day to strategize, plan, and unify around your vision. These prepping and strategizing sessions are built into our model because we deeply appreciate and respect our client’s decision to invest in us, and we want them to be overjoyed with every last component of the event.

We believe that we get what we pay for - and so should you.

That’s why we never, ever compromise our quality and tarnish our brand with representatives that don’t reflect who we are and what we stand for. If you value quality as much as we do, reach out to see how we can best support you and your business through top-of-the-line experience design, consulting, and connection facilitation services.
